Ice Rescue Technician Advanced Instructor (IRTAI)

The Ice Rescue Technician Advanced Instructor (IRTAI) pathway is designed for teaching personnel with an Ice capability up to Technician level. In addition, IRTAI Instructors can teach skills and techniques on large volume rivers with open leads.

Prerequisites

• Surface Ice Rescue Technician (SRT) at least twice
• Surface Ice Rescue Technician Advanced (SRTA) module at least twice
• EMT or Wilderness First Responder (WFR)

Instructor training & assessment

Observe, assist & be assessed by IRT-IT and/or as agreed upon with Northwest Rescue’s International Office

Qualification valid for

2 years

Surface Ice Field Safety (IFS)
Surface Ice Rescue Technician (IRT)
Surface Ice Rescue Technician Advanced (IRTA)
