Inland Rescue Swimmer Instructor (IRSI)
The Inland Rescue Swimmer Instructor pathway is designed for existing InsW, InsWR, or InsWR-ITs to be able to deliver IRS courses.
Prerequisites
- Current Instructor Water (InsW), Instructor Water & Rope (InsWR), or Instructor Water & Rope – Instructor Trainer (InsWR-IT)
- Inland Rescue Swimmer (IRS)
- Inland Rescue Swimmer Advanced (IRSA)*
- Inland Rescue Swimmer Coastal (IRSC)*
- EMT or Wilderness First Responder (WFR)
Instructor training & assessment
Observe, assist & be assessed by IRS-IT and/or as agreed upon with Northwest Rescue’s International Office
Qualification valid for
2 years
Able to teach
Inland Rescue Swimmer (IRS)
Inland Rescue Swimmer Advanced (IRSA)
Inland Rescue Swimmer Coastal (IRSC)
