Rope Rescue Technician Instructor (RRTI)
The Rope Rescue Technician Instructor (RRTI) course covers the teaching of concepts and techniques to enable small teams to undertake technical rope rescues. A building block approach is used throughout the course so that candidates can progress from key concepts through to the rigging and operation of full systems for raising, lowering and highline rescues.
Prerequisites
- Current Rope Rescue Operator Instructor (RROI)
- Current Rope Rescue Technician (RRT)
- Current Rope Rescue Specialist (RRS)
- EMT, Wilderness First Responder (WFR), or equivalent workplace emergency medical certification
Instructor training & assessment
- Rope Rescue Technician Instructor course (24 hours) or
- Observe, assist & be assessed by InsWR-IT and/or as agreed upon with Northwest Rescue’s International Office
