Boat Operator Instructor (SFRBOI)
The Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Boat Operator Instructor pathway is designed for rescue professionals who want to teach the full suite of boat classes – FRBO, SRBO, and SFRBO – and includes flat/slow moving water rescue techniques, flood rescue techniques and swiftwater rescue techniques.
Prerequisites
- Current Instructor Water (InsW), Instructor Water & Rope (InsWR), or Instructor Water & Rope – Instructor Trainer (InsWR-IT)
- Logged experience of power boat handling (1 year)
- Swiftwater & Flood Rescue Boat Operator course
- EMT or Wilderness First Responder (WFR)
Instructor training & assessment
Observe, assist & be assessed by SFRBOI-IT and/or as agreed upon with Northwest Rescue’s International Office
Qualification valid for
2 years
