Basic Water First
Responder Instructor (BWFRI)
The Basic Water First Responder Instructor pathway is designed for candidates wishing to deliver a course with a rescue capability in still or slow moving water environment, such as lakes, ponds and canals.
Prerequisites
- Operations: Swiftwater First Responder or higher
- EMT or Wilderness First Responder (WFR)
Instructor training and assessment
Basic Water First Responder Instructor course (16 hours)
Qualification valid for
2 years
Able to teach
Water and Flood Awareness (AWR)
Basic Water First Responder (BWFR)
Lifejacket Competent User (LJCU)
Safe Working Near Water (SWNW)
Co-Worker Rescue from Water – Basic (CWRWB)
Flood Worker Safety (FWS)
Rope Rescue Specialist (RRS)
